Ward 6 Women’s Health Symposium
January 11, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Inspired by the Maternal and Infant Health Summit held this past September, this event is a collaborative partnership between Perry School, Hand’s Up Ministry, and Better Tomorrows, with support from the Mayor’s Office of Community Relations and Services. The goal of the Women’s Health Tea Party event is to continue to bring health resources to women and children in the communities that are most in need. The target audience is African American women of all ages, including seniors, single mothers, and residents of low-income housing. We are expecting about 60 – 70 people in attendance, and the event will promote various aspects of women’s health, including Nutrition, Mental Health, Sexual Health, and Disease Prevention.
The event will be an opportunity for community-based organizations, service providers, and District agencies to share resources and connect with the residents of Tyler House and the surrounding community in Sursum Corda.
