Pathways to Parenting & National Adoption Month 2019
November 1 - November 30
Each year, DC’s Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) joins with local child welfare partners, advocates and stakeholders during National Adoption Month (November) to plan heightened outreach and awareness-raising efforts focused on finding permanent homes for DC children and youth in foster care; as well to formally celebrate the finalization of the adoption of kids in care during that year.
The District of Columbia’s recognition of National Adoption Month 2019 will include the District’s 33rd Annual Adoption Day Ceremony on November 16, 2019. Co-hosted by the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and CFSA, this annual ceremony is a celebration of the joys of adoption and encourages area residents to consider adopting or fostering a child in the District’s child welfare system. Other CFSA National Adoption Month activities will include a social media campaign and a Facebook Live Conversation. To learn more about National Adoption Month activity, visit CFSA’s website for periodic updates.
CFSA has information sessions for prospective foster parents every two weeks. To be invited to an upcoming session, contact CFSA at 202-671-LOVE (5683) or visit www.fosterdckids.org.
